I did this for my mom’s 75th birthday. As a surprise, I reached out to her growing up friends, family, her college friends, her adult friends, teaching colleagues and those people reached out to others near and dear to her. Over 100 people called in and it took up 2 cds. It was remarkable and a true testament to who my mom is and how she has touched so many lives in her 75 years. This surprise gift was a favorite of hers, not to mention the praise that I got and of course, Life on Record, for coming up with this great idea and wonderful vehicle in which to have someone be honored or celebrated. This was by far the coolest gift ever! We purchased your product for a 90th birthday present for my mother. She is blind and has mild dementia. But the recorded messages were just the perfect gift for her. Hearing the voices and wishes of so many loved ones really hit the mark and lit up her face and her spirits! I found out about this service through a friend, so I used it for my wife’s 50th birthday. It was 100% great. Very clever. It is a very smoothly designed and easy to use service, the web interface makes it easy to keep track and organize recordings, it was great to get emails each time a recording came in and to be able to listen to them immediately via the attached MP3’s, and the podcast-like interface with iTunes ended up being extremely convenient and useful. I have to give special kudos to the customer service: the response was very quick, very friendly, and extremely accommodating to some special requests and situations for my case. And beyond that, the best part was sitting next to my wife as she listened to all the voices of people I was able to find from her life, some she hadn’t heard from in decades. Mom loved her LifeOnRecord CD. I put her 80th birthday party together from a distance and this CD was indeed a hit. Friends and relatives near and far were able to participate. Some memorable moments on the CD were various great grandchildren singing and playing the piano. A particularly talented friend of Mom’s created a harmonic… a singing piece called ‘The Turnin’ 80 Blues’. An old friend related fond memories for the last time in his ‘voice’ (the next day they were going to have to remove his voice box due to cancer).
