Life on Record, It is our absolute pleasure to write this testimonial about your service, business and product. We had previously placed an order with Voice Quilt over 8 years ago and thought this would be a great gift for our friend turning 50. Learning Voice Quilt was gone and you had replaced them, I was hesitant. Well, that was wasted hesitation!! Ordering was easy, Twice I had to call, and both times the owner answered the phone, and walked us thru our self inflicted mistakes. I didn’t have to leave a message, he was there! Even answered the phone at 9 pm!! The hardest part of this beautiful gift, is to get your family and friends on board and to get it done. You have to stay on them and threaten dead lines. But once they do, its fabulous. Best gift ever! We purchased the speaker box and it is quality and attractive. It’s so awesome to have messages from family, friends, co-workers and especially from the ones who have passed on. Their messages are still with us. If you want a unique gift, this is IT! This was by far the coolest gift ever! I found out about this service through a friend, so I used it for my wife’s 50th birthday. It was 100% great. Very clever. It is a very smoothly designed and easy to use service, the web interface makes it easy to keep track and organize recordings, it was great to get emails each time a recording came in and to be able to listen to them immediately via the attached MP3’s, and the podcast-like interface with iTunes ended up being extremely convenient and useful. I have to give special kudos to the customer service: the response was very quick, very friendly, and extremely accommodating to some special requests and situations for my case. And beyond that, the best part was sitting next to my wife as she listened to all the voices of people I was able to find from her life, some she hadn’t heard from in decades. My younger sister Jane was a 47 year old lawyer, college professor, and the single mother of a seven year old son when, about 11 years ago, she first developed symptoms of muscle weakness and incoordination. Ultimately, it was determined that Jane had that most horrifying disease – ALS – also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, an progressive and invariably fatal motor neuron disease. Due to the young age of her son at diagnosis, Jane opted to live as a paralyzed and ventilator-dependent person in order to continue participation in raising her son and to see him grow to adulthood, if possible. Time went on and Jane was forced to medically retire from her faculty position when she could no longer walk or drive safely to work. She eventually became a resident at an assisted living facility for neurologically ill/impaired individuals. This past December, I was struggling to come up with a Christmas gift idea for Jane. What do you give a totally paralyzed, and ventilator dependent person, but who’s mind is still as sharp and alert as ever? I googled, “Christmas gifts for hospice patients”, and found Life on Record. Jane received several calls from her former colleagues, friends, and family to her Life on Record 800 message line. Jane died March 4, 2015. In the week prior to her death, on her last day of consciousness, she listened to her messages. I could tell that they pleased her enormously, and I was so thankful to have found Life on Record for her. I am so happy and grateful for your service! I believe my sister died just a little happier due to her messages from Life on Record.

We signed up for this for my mother’s birthday and she got well over 100 messages from friends and family. Even as far away as New Zealand. The website is a little wonky and the final order process was confusing but the final product is amazing. It’s such a simple service for people to use and the speaker was much nicer than I expected. It’s a nice, rechargeable, metal speaker in packaging that reminds you of an Apple product. This is a great idea for any milestone and I would highly recommend it.

Mom loved her LifeOnRecord CD. I put her 80th birthday party together from a distance and this CD was indeed a hit. Friends and relatives near and far were able to participate. Some memorable moments on the CD were various great grandchildren singing and playing the piano. A particularly talented friend of Mom’s created a harmonic… a singing piece called ‘The Turnin’ 80 Blues’. An old friend related fond memories for the last time in his ‘voice’ (the next day they were going to have to remove his voice box due to cancer).
